Passionate, dedicated, and hardworking is the least to say about Yaminah Legohn, artistic director, producer, choreographer, motivational speaker, professional dancer, host and dance educator  with over 1.7 Million views on YouTube. 


She is a performing artist of West African, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Jazz, Burlesque, Contemporary and Modern dance styles.


Legohn and her work has been featured in Dance Mogul Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, Paper Magazine, appeared dancing at The Apollo with Black Coffee, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,"choreographing on BET's "F In Fabulous."

Based out of Los Angeles and New York, Legohn has graced stages and shared her artistry across the country and to the world.

She has worked with multiple artists such as Shakira, 

Sean Paul, Nick Cannon, N.E.R.D., Black Coffee, Killa Mike,

Nelly Furtado, Lil Wayne, B.o.B., Fizz & Boog, Mack 10,

J Holiday, Tony Toni Toné and appeared in the movie Fame, MTV, BET,  Disney’s “Phineas & Ferb," “So Random," and

The Oxygen Channel's "Hair Battle Spectacular 2." 

Yaminah’s electrifying choreography, dance direction and performances have also been sought by some of the industry’s top ranking festivals and events, including

Afropunk, The Apollo, World Of Dance, One Africa Music Fest, House Of Yes, The Brooklyn Museum, Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, Malaria No More, Choreographer's "Carnival" Ball (Hollywood and New York),

There is no doubt that Yaminah is a well-rounded and trained dancer. Having studied and trained in Classical Ballet, Modern (Horton, Graham, Limón and Dunham techniques),

Jazz, West African, Hip Hop, Dancehall, House and Samba dance, Legohn’s versatility translates seamlessly in every performance and choreographed piece.

She has trained and studied at The Alvin Ailey School, Edge Performing Arts Center, Lula Washington, and The Alice Arts Center.

Adding to her dynamic repertoire, she embraced Dancehall growing up in the vibrant culture and often fuses the dance style in her choreography.

Ms. Legohn is a NAACP Speech Award Winner, former Debutante and holds a BA degree in Speech Communications & Dance with an emphasis in choreography and organization from San Francisco State University.
